Keeping repertoires in synch, need help on how 9 years 4 months ago #363

I am trying out CPT. Looks fantastic, expecting to use it.

Keeping the repertoire in synch with chessbase is my problem. It sounded easy. Import PGN into CPT, move and delete and add as needed.

But there is no good way I can find to see if I remain in synch. What I import into CPT is renamed (I have every position as a single line in a chessbase repertoire, if something could be kept to identify what line in chessbase has a line in CPT, it would have been easy).

Since CPT renames the lines, it gets harder to do a compare. Adding is not a problem, problem is if I delete something in chessbase, and forget to delete it in CPT, it will be hard to find without being able to compare. So comparison is the main key.

Chessbase cannot massexport as EPD. CPT cannot massexport the original PGNs.

Anyone have a good way on comparing what is in CPT with what is in an external repertoire database?

I am not sure if this helps you - but have you tried using the "run against games" feature to assist with this? If you export your lines from chessbase as PGN and then use run against games in CPT, it will tell you where the chessbase lines deviate from your CPT lines. CPT also has a feature to add and mark the new lines for review in your CPT repertoire. I think this may be close to what you are looking for?
