I am just getting started with CPT. It's apparent that when I use the "training" mode it thinks every line is a main line. I am getting sidelines at the depth I have set main lines at. How do I get CPT to recognize a sideline as such?

please check the section 6.5.1 Line Complexity Options in the manual. You can configure the training to focus only on the main lines. You can also train all sidelines till move let's say 7 and then focus on the main lines.
