What is the time limit you have to write out your discussion in a topic? While writing one, I stopped to pour myself a coffee, came back, finished what I was writing and went to submit it only to find I had timed out and the message hadn't posted. Luckily, I have a habit of copying most messages in forums before posting just for that reason. I usually spend more time editing a post than I do writing it and it can take me a while to get the message the way I want it. This forum's default limit seems a bit short. Stephan, could it be extended a little?

Your "copy -paste" method is one favoured my me too - let's hope I don't regret not using it for this one.
I guess the timeout length feature will never please every everytime. Could the forum state what the timeout period is - then at least we know?
